The Fed-up Homeschooler's Wish List

As I've said, we homeschool.

I was lucky enough the other day to find this wonderful video on Youtube that sums up the encounters we have with the general 'non-homie' population.

We laughed all the way through! I hope this gives you a laugh, or at the very least, leaves you better informed.

I can appreciate the feelings behind the wishlist, Suzanne, but they seemed a little to bitter to me.

But then, I didn't homeschool my kids. I just sat with them every day when they got home from school and worked with them on their homework to make sure they understood it and got it done.

It didn't make me laugh, or even smile, but it did inform me of all the ways "non-homie" people can irritate homeschoolers.

A little bitter, yes. But nonetheless true. The kinds of comments we get when people find out we homeschool are baffling.

We don't mind baffling people, though. If what we do gets people to think--which is the very thing we're trying to teach our children to do--then all's the better.

Hi Suzanne,

I believe Santa can bring you all your wishes on your wishlist...but then, I also believe in Santa.

Have a great snowy season.

Andrew :)

The truth of the list is probably what makes it a little bitter. It amazes me sometimes how powerful the mind is and how hard it is to change. I try really hard to be open to new ideas and new ways of looking at things, but I'm probably just as bad, in some areas, as those non-homies are in the home schooling area.

SIGH!
